This course is ideal for anyone who leads a team or anyone with interest in supporting others with mental health conditions and gives attendees the necessary skills and knowledge to help people experiencing distress due to mental health conditions.
The course works best with 8 participants.

- Recognising the signs and symptoms associated with anxiety and depression.
- How to develop empathic listening skills.
- Tools to challenging stigma.
- Improve productivity within the workplace.

- Improved performance from individuals and teams.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this training, learners will:
- Know what mental health is and why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a Mental Health First Aid Responder.
- Understand how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting a mental health condition.
- Recognise and manage stress.
- Recognise and identify range mental conditions.
- Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health.
- Implement the first aid action plan for mental health.
- Know how to promote a positive mental health culture in the workplace.
Certification:
Learners who complete the course will receive an ASL Safety & Training Mental Health First Aid Responder Certificate.
