180° Excavator Novice CSCS
3 Day Course
This course is designed to instruct, train and assess participants in the safe use of 180 Excavators, in a variety of terrains, in keeping with current legislation.
180 Excavators often referred to as Backhoes or Backhoe Loaders are used for a huge variety of different jobs. Often they are the only piece of heavy equipment on a construction site.
Who Should Attend?
Those looking to gain full CSCS certification for a 180 Excavator.
Candidates Must:
- Have a Valid Safe Pass Card.
- Have proof of 6 Months on site experience. (letter from employer)
- Bring a Current Passport Photo.
- Bring their own PPE (e.g. Safety Footwear etc).
- Be at least 18 years of age.
Additional Information:
Maximum and minimum of 4 learners.
Course Content Theory:
- Duties of operator.
- Pre-Shift Inspection.
- Hazards associated with working with 180 Excavators.
Course Content Practical:
- Front shovel operation.
- Excavating and digging procedures.
- Back filling procedures.
- Ground Levelling.
- Machine limitations in different environments.
Certification:
SOLAS CSCS logbook/ticket and QQI certificate.
On the 3rd day of the course participants are given a log book. After 6 months further experience under the supervision of a CSCS ticket holder of the same category, they must pass a 1 day assessment to achieve CSCS card and QQI Certification.
