CSCS Health & Safety at Roadworks
1 Day Course
The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of the risk to worker safety from passing traffic, and the need to avoid creating dangers for road users. This training is mandatory under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
Protecting you, your colleagues and the public while you work on a public roadway.
Who Should Attend?
Operatives who are required to work in the proximity of roadworks, in both rural and urban locations.
Candidate requirements:
- Safe Pass Registration Card.
- Passport Photograph with signature on the back.
- PPS Number or National Insurance Number.
- Trainees must be at least 18 years of age.

Max No: 20 participants per course (SOLAS Regulation)
Training Methods:
- SOLAS registered instructor.
- Classroom based PowerPoint presentation.
- Multiple Choice Exam.
Course Content:
- Legislation for Roadworks.
- Signing, Lighting & Guarding.
- Excavation Safety.
- Plant & Equipment Materials.
- Emergency Procedures.
Learning Outcomes
- On completion of this course the learners will:
- Be aware of the current Health & Safety Legislation as it applies to safe operations at roadworks.
- Able to protect fellow workers and members of the public while working on public roadways.
Certification:
SOLAS CSCS (Construction Sector Certification Scheme) QQI Level 5 certification and identity card.
